SUMMARY:Setting | Mary O'Malley at Artlink Fort Dunree
DESCRIPTION:Mary O'Malley is an Irish-American artist raised outside New Yo
rk City.\nSetting is an exhibition of new work that brings together cerami
c sculpture\, gold\, flora\, and pollinators to explore relationships betw
een place\, material\, and time.\n\nMade from Lizella clay native to Middl
e Georgia\, the work creates a dialogue between landscapes shaped by empir
e\, extraction\, and division. Traces of gold evoke both the sacred and th
 e extractive\, linking divinity\, wealth\, colonial histories\, and ecolog
ical renewal. Set against geological and celestial time\, Setting reflects
on the fragility of human systems and the impermanence of borders and ide
 ntities.
