Brought up in the Kingdom of Mourne, Jane McGaughey studied art at Belfast and presently teaches Art & Design to 14-18 year olds. She seeks nature wherever she goes and much of her inspiration comes from walking in the Mournes. Her unique style has evolved from studying art and endless hours in her studio. She has had two-man exhibitions and group exhibitions. She works mainly in oils and watercolours, and paints landscapes and animal portraiture. The venue hosts local landscapes, seascapes, cottage and river scenes, and animal portraits, completed in oils, acrylic and watercolour.
She also completes animal portrait commissions. Ordering these can be made through email or Instagram. A beautiful depiction (60x90cms) of her late father’s dog can be seen in Moira Veterinary Surgery.
