DESCRIPTION:The Swimming Diaries originated as a book\, a memoir about swim
 ming and grieving\, written by Susan Thomson during the month when her mot
 her was dying. The film translates the book back into watery movement\, cr
 eating a lush tapestry of choral\, orchestral\, and pop music\, and a vivi
 d mosaic of underwater imagery\, dance sequences and video tapes of musica
 ls directed by her mother.  The film hovers between experimental documenta
 ry and feminist exploration of matrilineal creativity\, as it traces a hea
 rtfelt journey from life to death.\n\nFollowed by a Q&amp\;A with Susan Th
 omson\, hosted by Daniel Fitzpatrick (aemi).
