SUMMARY:Talk | The City is the Gallery with Declan McGonagle at Void Art Ce
 ntre
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\nWe are delighted to announce an illustrated talk about th
e Orchard Gallery’s programme\, delivered by its first director Declan M
cGonagle.\n\n\n\nDeclan McGonagle will chart the founding and development
of the Orchard Gallery over his tenure from 1978 to 1991. He will discuss
how the different approaches to programming engaged communities of place a
nd communities of interest from further afield and contributed to Derry’
s cultural ecosystem. This is an excellent opportunity to discuss the stra
tegic approach of the Orchard Gallery – understood as a public service
 – in relation to Declan McGonagle’s experiences and curatorial vision.
The audience is encouraged to participate\, to discuss and ask questions
during the event.\n\n\n\nWe expect this event to reach full capacity\, so
please cancel your free booking if you cannot attend the talk any longer s
o the place can be given to another person.\n\n\n\nTo reserve a ticket\, c
