DESCRIPTION:Join Professor Jonathan L. Zecher for a lecture about the frame
  commentary in the Byzantine Gospel Book (Chester Beatty W 139)\, which is
  featured in the current exhibition\, Manuscripts &amp\; The Mind: How we 
 read &amp\; respond to the written word. This lecture will consider the co
 mposition of catenae and the scribal practices of ‘frame commentaries’
  to explore questions of sacred tradition as these appear in the materiali
 ty of such manuscripts. It will seek to open up the Gospel Book as a space
  of practice and communication\, as well as an artefact and artwork.\n\nIM
