The Artist’s Well is a weekly programme via Zoom (live) at 10am on Saturdays and YouTube (recorded for playback) which provides viewers with an insight into the lives, work spaces and work practices of artists throughout Ireland and beyond in order to inspire, enlighten and connect with each other.
Next Saturday’s guest is Blaise Smith R.H.A. Born in 1976, Blaise is one of Ireland’s leading figurative painters. In 2017 his portrait “My Parents” was runner up in the National Gallery’s Zurich Portrait Prize and the previous year he won the Irish Arts Review Portrait Prize at the RHA with his much celebrated group portrait “8 Scientists”, a portrait of leading Irish female Scientists for the Royal Irish Academy and Accenture’s “Women on Walls” Campaign. He teaches advanced oil painting techniques and drawing and composition at the RHA Drawing School.
The Artist’s Well is a non-scripted, informal interview and studio tour format with the opportunity for viewers to ask questions at the end.
