The Nature of Things, solo exhibition by Noor Poppers in The Courthouse, Kinvara
Noor Poppers is a visual artist living in Galway. She moved to Ireland from her native Holland in the mid 1970’s after falling in love, not only with an Irishman, but with the Irish landscape, countryside and misty Irish weather. She raised her family in Galway while working as a therapist and dabbling in various creative and artistic endeavours, before returning to college to study fine art in 2004. She has previously explored themes related to her Jewish ancestry and has held a number of exhibitions, including one in The Town Hall Theatre Galway. Using mainly acrylics and oils, her current exhibition, entitled The Nature of Things, takes inspiration from her love of landscape and nature. Many of her works were painted en plein air in the French countryside near Carcassonne, France over the past few summers and were each completed in a mere two hours. Others were painted in her garden studio near Salthill in Galway, using photographs of nature to inspire her.
The Nature of Things will be launched at KAVA, The Courthouse Kinvara on Thursday November 28th at 6.30pm with special guest Little John Nee.
