The Waiting Game, the first solo exhibition by Colm MacAthlaoich in Italy curated by Valeria Ceregini, includes only new paintings, a series of works where Colm MacAthlaoich continues to deal with the sense of place and time, recalling memories and referencing imagery which can connect one to a place and time. This process of metamorphosis and dream-like re-imagining creates an uncanny world where figures and places exist in a suspended reality as though the past has been revisited and represented in a series of contemporary visions.

The Waiting Gameis in reference to the Irish playwright Samuel Beckett and furthermore his fascination with the human condition of being in time.

Colm MacAthlaoich(b. 1980 in Dublin, Ireland) lives and works between Dublin and Madrid. Recent exhibitions include Traveling Without Moving, Pallas Projects/Studios, Dublin, IRE (2017), Una Terrible Belleza, Rizoma Galeria, Madrid, ES (2017), Production, Monster Truck Gallery, Dublin (2012).
