The photography and video exhibition View from the Sea is launching on Wednesday July 13th at 6pm in the Darkroom, 32 North Brunswick Street, Stoneybatter, D7.

The exhibition will be open until July 27th.

Giita Hammond’s exhibition View from the Sea is a photographic/video project Giita made during the first year and a half of Covid, while swimming in the sea at the 40ft and Sandycove. In a time of restrictions, swimming in the sea with her three friends and documenting her swims became the antidote; freedom and an abandonment of rules. The connection Giita had with the women she swam with was vital to the project and to her mental health during this time. View from the sea includes videos, seascapes and portraits of the women she swam with.

View from the Sea is part of Photo Ireland Festival and was part funded by the Arts Council
