SUMMARY:What Persists | Chris Falconer at Imagine Arts Festival
DESCRIPTION:\n\nWhat Persists is a suite of tape-based compositions by Chri
s Falconer (Waiting Space) Imagine Arts Festival’s Commissioned Artist f
or 2026\, marking its 25th anniversary. Responding to the 2026 festival th
eme of In Memories We Grow\, the work explores memory\, repetition\, persi
stence and impermanence through piano\, synthesizers\, environmental recor
dings and voices from the festival’s past. Drawing on tape’s relations
hip with archiving\, the compositions consider how memories are retained\,
revisited and changed over time\, with unexpected details sometimes lost\
, distorted or enriched. The suite also soundtracks Kateo’s Growing an A
 rchive exhibition
