SUMMARY:What Persists | Terri Smith at Galway City Library
DESCRIPTION:What Persists is a series of detailed ink paintings examining w
hat remains after use\, damage\, abandonment\, or death. Drawing on observ
ation\, folklore\, and forensic modes of looking\, the work considers pers
istence as residue rather than endurance\, what is carried forward materia
lly and symbolically. Animals\, human-made objects\, and organic matter ap
pear as witnesses within quiet scenes of tension\, decay\, and continuity\
, where nature is approached not as refuge but as record.
