DESCRIPTION:\nExhibition continues until Friday\, 10th July 2026.\n\n\n\nA 
 solo exhibition by Paul Galligan\, designed by Mark St. John Ellis.\n\n\n\
 nPaul’s work consists of large-scale charcoal and soft pastel drawings t
 hat focus on the local Irish rural landscape.\n\n\n\nHe approaches these s
 ubjects as individual presences\, creating oversized images that generate 
 an almost three-dimensional effect. The drawings are highly physical and e
 xpressive. He walks the surrounding roads and farms\, photographing in mon
 ochrome\, from which the artworks are developed.\n\n\n\nFarm animals\, alo
 ng with the ever-eroding trees and ditches – familiar yet often overlook
 ed\, intimate yet utilitarian – occupy a complex position within Irish c
 ulture. By isolating and enlarging these subjects\, the artist seeks to gr
 ant them a sense of directness and authority\, encouraging viewers to ackn
 owledge their presence. Charcoal is central to the process. Its immediacy 
 and fragility mirror the subjects’ vulnerability.\n\n\n\nRather than pre
 senting an idealised rural image\, the work acknowledges the quiet realiti
 es of coexistence between humans\, animals\, and land. In a time of enviro
 nmental uncertainty and shifting relationships with agriculture\, these dr
 awings invite a pause – a moment to look closely at lives that are deepl
 y interwoven with our own.\n\n\n\nOpen 10am to 4pm Tuesday to Friday.12pm
