Following a successful debut festival in 2017, Wicklow Screendance Festival returns for its second edition in Bray, October 17th to 20th. The festival promises Wicklow dance, film and arts & culture audiences a sweeping international programme of films, workshops, performances, discussion Q&A, with invited guest artists including Marisa M Hayes and Franck Boulègue of The International Video Dance Festival of Burgundy (France) and acclaimed dancer/film maker Jasmine Morand from Switzerland. Leading Irish film and dance artists Tara Brandel, Steve Woods and Emma Fitzgerald will present and discuss works. “If you’re interested in film or dance in any of its manifestations, I’m sure you’ll find much to enjoy at this years event”, says Dr Adrienne Brown, Wicklow Screendance Festival director. The events include a schools workshop at Bray Institute of Further Education on Friday October 19, 11-1pm.
A free event takes place at Perfect Theatre Studios, Bray Bowl on Friday October 19, 7-10pm. This evening includes dance performance, dance film screening and discussion, with special guests and artists as far afield as Latvia, Israel, Finland, Brazil, Greece, Netherlands, Lebanon and Ireland.
