Kilkenny’s Blackstack Studio to Feature at National Print Museum’s Winter Print Fair: Artists from Kilkenny and the south-east will be presenting their unique fine art prints at an exciting new event which opens at the National Print Museum in Beggars Bush, Dublin, on 30th November. The Winter Print Fair provides this opportunity for visitors to enjoy the breadth and richness of contemporary Irish print and to find a unique gift to suit all budgets and tastes. The temporary exhibition space on the mezzanine level of the Museum will showcase a curated group of artists working in the medium of print. Blackstack Studio printmakers will present a broad selection of screenprints, etchings and lino-cuts with subject matter ranging from mythical allegories, studies of nature and portraiture to the abstract. Artists include Jacqueline O’Neill, whose artwork focuses on exploring the equestrian form and Maeve Coulter who recently exhibited in The Masters: Screen and Stone exhibition in Bankside Gallery, London. The event will provide a visual feast for all to enjoy, as it includes a selection of artists working in associated crafts such as illustration and origami – including the children’s book illustrator and Ireland’s laureate for children’s literature, P.J. Lynch. The Museum will organising fun print-related activities for all visitors to experience, including activities for the youngest of visitors. The Winter Print Fair venue, in the Garrison Chapel of Beggars Bush Barracks, houses original letterpress equipment and is itself well worth a visit. The Winter Print Fair will open on the evening of Friday 30 November and will continue through the weekend (Saturday 1 December and Sunday 2 December).
