Experimental Visual Bookmaking with Andi McGarry at the National Print Museum

Sunday 14 May, 11.00 to 16.30
Fee: €75
Max. 10 people

In this workshop, participants learn through seeing and making visual books, artist’s books and unique, one of a kind pieces. Participants are walked through simple binding methods and attempt to capture basic narratives in book form. The accent is on making and doing. There is an opportunity to really experiment and explore very simple print techniques like mono-printing, and card printing. A selection of artist’s books from the Wexford Artist’s Book Collection will be on hand to help inspire, delight and surprise. Participants are encouraged to bring photos, words or ideas for individual expression. This workshop gives participants the opportunity to try a number of bindings including Japanese stab, and a simple case binding.
