Finding a Way to Look Anew with Damien Flood | RHA School Masterclass

Flood is known for his deftness with oil paint and his multiple approaches to the medium. This 2-day workshop will be divided into four exercises, each one introduced by a practical demonstration. These demonstrations will show the participants different techniques and ideas they can incorporate into their paintings. A core focus of the two days will be experimentation with different painting techniques, grounding the canvas, grey tones, colour mixing and viscosities. Alongside this, there will be a focus on composition and incorporating various visual languages through paint. On the morning of the first day he will briefly discuss supports and materials, explaining how they affect the outcome of the work.
