”All contents of our unconscious are constantly being projected into our surroundings” – Carl Jung.
During this workshop we will explore the process of embodiment from the somatic felt experience of embodied memory as we will continue moving into the next developmental process: projection. During projection children become aware of the difference between themselves and others, aware of the world around them; objects and toys begin to take on great significance as symbols to project upon stories, emotions and parts of themselves. Projection helps children make sense of the world around them. As adults these projections can be the hiding place for our own personal voice, our true self. Understanding this process can help us reclaim ourselves.
The workshop includes:
• Guided meditation and breath work
• Somatic movement practice
• The embodiment of voice
• Relating: from inner self to outer self
• Personal choreography with objects: meaning making
• Creative processing time
Aimed at performers, movement practitioners, therapists, creative facilitators… and anyone with an interest in exploring the arts as a tool to raise personal awareness and consciousness levels.
Facilitated by Marianne Araujo Marcote, Dramatherapist, Creative Supervisor, Performer and Pedagogue. Marianne’s work is directly informed by 20 years background of performance practice and research that focused on the connection between body-mind, impulse and action; theatre as a vehicle for the exploration and expression of the self.
