The Drawing Studio offers students a unique hands-on training in the museum/gallery district of Dublin’s city centre. This interdisciplinary, process-driven course is the only one of its kind in Ireland and has been developed specifically by The Drawing Studio to meet the growing demand for practical artistic training.
Class sizes are small allowing students personal attention. The Drawing Studio is all about structured, involved tuition. They are not primarily concerned with self-expression or art-making, rather the emphasis is on teaching the discipline and skills which facilitate art-making. The objective is to instil technical skills which give students the ability to transmit their creative impulse, intact.
This course is designed for everyone, whether beginner or advanced, young and older, who want to develop useful, practical skills. While obviously key to artists, it is just as valuable for those who work, or have an interest in design, architecture, fashion, mathematics, medicine, engineering, film.
The school doesn’t offer a diploma, committed students can leave with an accomplished portfolio or body of work, which demonstrates a high level of skill in drawing.
