Funding | Arts Council Visual Arts Project Award 2019

Application deadline: Thursday 16 August, 5.30pm

The Visual Arts Project Award supports the development and delivery of projects in 2019. There are two strands to the award.

Strand 1: Development
The purpose of the development strand is to support artists, curators or producers to develop and research new, ambitious work intended for public presentation. The intention of this strand is solely around the development of a particular project, but a public presentation and outcome is not expected.

Priority in this strand will be given to proposals that:

  • Focus on building relationships, partnerships and collaborations towards an ambitious project
  • Explore the potential of relevant permissions for off-site, public-realm work
  • Focus on developing new ideas through research, innovation and experimentation
  • Demonstrate a commitment to high-quality artistic production.

Strand 2: Delivery
The purpose of the delivery strand is to support the production and/or commissioning of ambitious projects in the visual arts. These projects can be in the public realm or in a gallery setting.

Priority in this strand will be given to proposals that:

  • Enable the creation of work that is ambitious, whether off-site or in a gallery setting
  • Enable the public to experience visual arts in new and exciting ways
  • Enable collaborative practice
  • Enable the completion of a body of ambitious work, whether a once-off project, exhibition or series of events
