Sheena Barrett joined Dublin City Council Arts Office, an arts development unit within Dublin City Council, over a decade ago to lead the development of the LAB Gallery. The LAB has become a critical platform for Irish practice through commissions, exhibitions, public programming, academic partnerships, cross disciplinary collaborations and commissioned writing.
Having previously held roles at Breaking Ground, Temple Bar Gallery & Studios, the National Gallery of Ireland and the National Museum of Ireland, she has extensive experience in supporting artists and producing ambitious public programmes and commissions. She is a founding member of MONTO Arts and a programme contributor to MA Art Research Collaboration at IADT. Curatorial projects have included solo presentations by Barbara Knezevic, Vera Klute, Lee Welch, Tsui Kuang Yu, Bea McMahon, Bassam Al-Sabbah, Anne Maree Barry and Bridget O’Gorman. She is a founding member of MONTO Arts.
