Kate Strain (Kunstverein Aughrim)

Kate Strain is a visual arts curator with over 10 years of experience in commissioning, producing, mediating & presenting contemporary art. I am the founding director of Kunstverein Aughrim (a production agency in becoming, set to launch in 2022), co-founder/curator of the Department of Ultimology, and co-curator of RGKSKSRG. From 2016 to 2021 Kate Strain was the artistic director of Grazer Kunstverein in Austria.

Curator’s Areas of Interest:

I am interested in art projects that operate beyond the conventional gallery setting. I am particularly drawn to peformative practices that intersect with life and have meaningful impact across diverse communities. I work with artists at any stage of their careers, on the development, production and realisation of ambitious projects and bodies of work.

Kate Strain is taking part in Speed Curating on Thursday 7th October

Please Note:
VAI members attending Get Together 2021 can book up to 3 Speed Curating Sessions and 2 Clinics only. If you book more than this we will need to call you to cancel the extra bookings. Please do not over book as this will lead to delays for other artists and may result in other artists missing their chance to book when they are viewing.

A Get Together General Admission ticket is needed to attend Speed Curating and Specialist Clinics. If you do not book your General Admission ticket your Speed Curating and Clinic Bookings will not be valid.
