Pottery is an ancient art form which has recently been enjoying a surge in popularity. Whether it’s throwing pots on a wheel or using traditional Japanese glazing and firing techniques, working with clay offers a wealth of different processes that give you the opportunity to create unique, tangible and functional artworks to take home.
Come relax and unwind to enjoy this therapeutic craft with Potter David Mc Comiskey here in the tranquil rural setting of the Mournes. David attended the renown centre of Pottery excellence: Thomastown, Kilkenny after he graduated from the University of Ulster and later completed a residency in his craft in Denmark
David will take you through such techniques such as throwing, slab building pinch-potting and transferring pattern on to clay to make your own bowls and mugs
The workshop takes place from 10-4pm in the Pottery Barn at Gorse Hill Farm with a break for a picnic lunch between 1-2
All materials are included in the cost along with bottomless hot drinks and lemon and marscapone mini cakes.
