The aim of the course is to give participants at all levels of ability, the methods and techniques to create a lifelike portrait including the theory and practice to add depth, volume, atmosphere and life to portrait drawings.
You will learn how to render realistic hair and create complex textures like skin with a layering approach, tonal value relationships, drawing details and working with different kinds of contrast to achieve a balanced visual interest. Participants will draw from a detailed photograph during the classes and the skills learned can be used in the future for drawing any subject matter.
You will take away your finished portrait and if you wish, you can include this or other work in the United Arts Club annual Art Exhibition. You will also have access to the United Arts Club private Facebook group where you can upload your work, keep in touch will fellow graduates and receive ongoing support.
