IMMA Collection Freud Project | Symposium at Trinity College Dublin
Saturday 7 September.
IMMA is delighted to partner with the Department of the History of Art and Architecture in Trinity College Dublin, to present a unique day-long symposium on the work of Lucian Freud as part of the IMMA Collection: Freud Project. Taking place in the Trinity Long Room Hub, an exclusive line-up of international speakers are invited to explore new ways to look at Freud’s work.
The Symposium brings together significant new research on Freud and draws out new perspectives on his life, the networks in which he worked, and his continuing relevance for artists today. The programme features two keynote talks; internationally renowned artist Jutta Koether who considers the existentialist model of artist/sitter in Freud’s work, and Greg Salter, specialist in British art after 1945 and a lecturer in History of Art at the University of Birmingham, who explores the topic of Freud’s Queer Affinities.
This Symposium is free but ticketed, to book tickets see the link below. Please note this event takes place at Trinity Long Room Hub, Trinity College Dublin, College Green, Dublin 2.
