Brazilian Photographer based in London, Paulo Pimentel will showcase his black and white images (From Film negatives) through a powerful project images called “Canavierios”.

Canavieiros is a social artistic project by photographer Paulo Pimentel carried out in 1987 in the ‘Zona da Mata’ between the Brazilian States of Pernambuco and Alagoas, Northeast of Brazil. The project took place during Brazil’s national sugar cane-based ethanol fuel program (“Pró Álcool” or “Programa Nacional do Álcool”), launched in 1975.
Paulo Pimentel is a Brazilian news cameraman and is a passionate photographer. He has been living in London since 1981 after relocating from Rio de Janeiro to work as a Global TV correspondent for Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia. He has registered international historic events, like the fall of the Berlin Wall, civil conflicts and wars.

“In Conversation” is a Slideshow presentation followed by Q and A, it is part of the 3rd Edition of Brazil Meets Bray organised by Tres Brazilian cultural Centre in Partnership with the Mermaid Arts Centre, Bray Camera Club, Brazilian Embassy – Dublin, Wicklow County Council and Creative Ireland.
