Introduction to Documentary Photography with Kate Nolan at BLOCK T

This course will examine the practice of documentary photography, focusing on the visual narrative and exploring the work of photographers in this tradition. Practical techniques are explored and students are shown how to research a topic, plan, photograph and present a photo story.

Kate Nolan is an Irish visual artist focusing on extended photographic stories that examine the nature of identity. Her work has been shown internationally at various institutions and was nominated for the Prix Pictet Award 2016.

Students must have a basic working knowledge of photography.
**The final class will end with a one night exhibition in Block T**
