The National Gallery UK (London) is seeking an Associate Curator of Modern and Contemporary to assist in the development and delivery of the National Gallery’s new Modern and Contemporary Programme.
Working with the Curator of Modern and Contemporary Projects and the Curator of Post-1800 Painting, the Associate Curator will be responsible for delivering the Gallery’s ambitious new programme of artist residencies, as well as assisting with the care, display, research, management and interpretation of the National Gallery’s historic collection. They will have a particular interest in enabling a dialogue between contemporary practitioners, diverse audiences and the collection.
The successful candidate will be a specialist in a relevant field of expertise, with experience of working in a collection institution, working with contemporary practitioners and a record of curated projects and exhibitions to a high international standard. They will have exceptional public speaking skills and be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, from the general public to artists, peers, lenders, and supporters of the Gallery.
