Deadline for applications: Friday 16 August.
European Expo is a 2020 Limerick centred series of exhibitions, seminars and events promoting European culture and cooperation. Culture and the Art Collection of the European Investment Bank art exhibition, Belonging, are at its core and it complements Galway as the European Capital of Culture.
The meaning and purpose of the European Union has been weakened for many people. It has become removed from the common man – perceived by many to be a remote, bureaucratic and interfering entity. European Expo uses culture and arts to make the work of the EU relevant to Limerick Citizens and shows how European Ireland is. Bringing the EU to the provinces will help answer the questions: Why is it relevant? What does it do for me?
You will work with the Hunt Museum, Limerick City and County Council Culture and Arts Department, all 3 of Limerick’s universities, local business, arts and music organisations, EVA International, the Limerick City Library, Museum and Gallery and other willing partners to develop a programme that covers 6-9 months of 2020.
Three key responsibilities: Fundraising towards the required €400,000 to stage and market all the events; Programming partner events; international Marketing and Communications campaign.
Salary, according to experience within a scale ranging from €45,000 p.a. to €60,000 p.a. (supported by Limerick City and County Council) Holiday 21 days p.a.
