The Chester Beatty Library contains a world famous collection of manuscripts, prints, miniature paintings, early printed books and objets d’art from countries across Asia, the Middle East, North Africa and Europe. The Collection is principally focused on the written word and its associated painted and printed images.

One of the Library’s key objectives in our current Strategic Plan 2016-2020 is to develop the potential for further self-generated income. Reporting to the Head of Development, the Events Coordinator will manage all commercial hire of our spaces, including dealing with third-party suppliers (caterers, AV rental etc) and ensure that all events are staffed and managed to a high standard.

In addition, s/he will plan and manage all Library-related evening events, including exhibition openings and occasional after-hours VIP visits. S/he will also assist with the management of events that are part of our day-to-day public programme and support the Head of Development with corporate fund-raising and related administrative duties.

The Chester Beatty Library is a collaborative organisation and the global nature of the collections are reflected in our multicultural and intercultural programming. With a strong understanding of and passion for the arts, the successful candidate will be an energetic and self-motivated individual with excellent interpersonal skills. S/he will form part of a small but dynamic team with the flexibility to adapt to the Library’s constantly changing environment.
