The Chester Beatty Library contains a world famous collection of manuscripts, prints, miniature paintings, early printed books and objets d’art from countries across Asia, the Middle East, North Africa and Europe. The Collection is principally focused on the written word and its associated painted and printed images.

The Executive Assistant to the Director will manage the affairs of Director’s Office, providing a high level of executive support to the Director and representing the Office to both staff and external constituents with a high degree of efficiency and integrity. This will involve prioritising and juggling multiple and frequently-conflicting deadlines, commitments, and projects. S/he will have a full understanding of the Director’s Office goals and objectives, and of the Library’s policies and strategy, and a keen interest in the Collections.

The Chester Beatty Library is a collaborative organisation: the successful candidate will be an energetic and self-motivated individual with a passion for the arts and excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.

New Entrants outside the Irish public/civil service:
An incremental salary scale applies and all new entrants from outside the Irish public/civil service will be required to commence employment at the minimum point of the scale which is €47,081 per annum. They will also be required to join the Single Public Service Pension Scheme.

Existing Irish public/civil servants:
For existing Irish public/civil servants, the salary scale of €44,816 to €56,415 applies, subject to approval of the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform. However the entrant will be required to commence employment at the minimum point of the scale €44,816 per annum.
