Job Vacancy | Exhibition Build and Construction Specialist at The Barbican

Barbican International Enterprises are currently seeking a talented, flexible, organised and calm individual to provide build and carpentry services and support across our touring shows.

Using your previous carpentry experience gained from working on major exhibitions within the arts/museum world, you will co-ordinate the build of Barbican International Enterprises touring exhibitions.

In this busy role you will be required to work with and instruct venue’s art handling team and technical team as well as Barbican staff to install and/or de-install Barbican exhibitions across a variety of venues. You will be responsible for the build of the exhibition and maintaining the current exhibition structure; as well as advising on issues such as transport, packing and installation.

As well as having demonstrable relevant practical and technical experience in the arts, candidates should be able to work independently as well as in a team environment. You will demonstrate excellent communication skills a professional attitude, and strong problem solving abilities.

All casual positions have hours and dates that vary from exhibition to exhibition throughout the year. All exhibition work is subject to availability. Please note that casual work will involve international travel for periods of up to two weeks with a Barbican team and a valid passport is a requirement.
