Job Vacancy | Lecturer / Assistant Lecturer with Specialism in Textile Design, at NCAD

First Year Studies at NCAD seeks to provide a solid foundation for entry into the variety of creative paths of study offered by the college. First Year Studies is a shared programme of learning that leads our students on to studying Design, Fine Art, or Education.The College aims to promote a broad education which can be the basis for a variety of careers as artists and designers, either by working individually in a studio, a professional or educational body, a small business as part of a team in industry. This post will be an integral part of the academic staff within the discipline, department and College as a whole. The primary alignment is with the Department of First Year with the flexibility to work beyond the department if required. Lecturing staff actively contribute to the teaching and learning, research, commercialisation and knowledge transfer and internationalisation agendas of the College.

This role will actively contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching programmes associated with Year 1 of the undergraduate BA courses, and in particular support and represent Textile Design within the interdisciplinary art and design context of year 1. Post-graduate degree in Textile Design / related field or equivalent professional experience required.

Lecturer: €52,186 -€83,039per annum
Assistant Lecturer: €39,120 –€53,783per annum

Appointment will be made on the appropriate scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines.
Note: New entrants to the Public Sector will be appointed at the first point of the scale.
This is a Full–time, Two year Fixed Term Contract.
