The Board Of Management of Scoil Naomh Eltin is commissioning a site specific Artwork(s) under the Per Cent for Art Scheme funded by the Department of Education and Skills resulting from the construction of our new school building. Scoil Naomh Eltin is a co-educational primary school located in the heart of Kinsale.
Budget: The value of the commission is €23,000 including VAT.

The brief invites proposals for an artwork that responds to the ethos of the school and its members, its community and historical heritage. The proposed commission is to acquire a permanent, visual artwork for the school that reflects the character and ethos of our school and our place at the heart of the community of Kinsale. The aim of this commission is:
- To enhance the school environment for pupils, staff and the local community
- To meaningfully engage some of our students during the process of creating this Artwork
The selection process will take the form of a Two Stage Open Competition. It is open to all interested professional artists at any stage of their career or experience. Selection will be based on the information supplied, establishing the competence of the artist to carry out the commission.
The commissioner shall issue an official order for Stage Two shortlisted artists which will detail the requirements for submission to this Stage. The school will not be liable for any costs or expenses in excess of €500 (inc. VAT and all other charges).
The Selection Panel will consist of a representative from the School Board of Management, the Project Manager, the School Principal, Joseph Walsh designer and artist.
