Ashbourne Educate Together is a primary school based in Ashbourne, Co. Meath. They moved into their new school in 2016 and now reside on a campus of three new schools just outside the town of Ashbourne. The school’s ethos is very much based on the ‘Educate Together’ principals with almost 450 students.
Ashbourne Educate Together’s Public Art Working Group have made the decision to commission an engaging Permanent Artwork (s) for the interior / exterior space or both for their new school to consider the following:
– An artwork that is relevant now and will also grow and remain relevant to their students and staff now and into the future.
– An interactive element to the project.
– A level of engagement with students that won’t compromise their wish to have permanent artworks.
– The school would wish for an exterior element to this artwork so that it may be visible to parents and their local community.
– The school has a cohort of children with special needs and a large variety of international students.
Various approaches and levels of engagement are welcomed as part of this Per Cent for Art project. Collaborative partnerships are also welcome, should artists wish to partner with another artist for this project.
