Begins Thursday 6 October, 7 to 10pm | 8 weeks | Cost: €260
Schoolhouse for Art, The Square, Enniskerry, Co. Wicklow
Cast painting is a time honoured method of learning to paint from life. Students paint directly from plaster casts of individual facial features of Michelangelo’s David to learn how to describe form and light in oil paint.
Instructor, Nick Robinson, will work alongside students, critiquing and demonstrating individually each week in a step-by-step approach. Instruction includes uses of materials, ways of observing and technical painting methods.
Places are limited to maximise the learning experience for each participant. For the beginner or experienced painter working from the cast is an invaluable exercise in understanding observational painting.
