Limerick Printmakers, 3 Johns Square, Limerick
Join us at Limerick Printmakers this January for a comprehensive workshop focusing on how to introduce printmaking into the classroom in an accessible, age appropriate manner.
Suitable for both national/secondary school teachers & anyone who works with community groups & others this intensive workshop will be tailored specifically to your requirements. Our experienced tutor Brian Fitzgerald will cover various printmaking methods such as woodblock and lino along with classroom management skills and much more. Small class numbers ensure greater contact time with the tutor and an extensive overview of the relevant skills required to efficiently teach printmaking in a classroom setting. The course will incorporate printmaking methods including linocuts, monoprinting, drypoint etching on aluminium plates & chine collé. Participants are welcome to discuss potential teaching ideas with the tutor & ask for advice on how to best adapt these for the classroom.
Brian Fitzgerald is an artist, printmaker, and qualified art teacher who has taught in schools in both Ireland & the UK.
He is also co-director of Parallel Editions, a fine art print editioning company based in Limerick city.
