Deadline: 6 December
In bidding for the title of European Capital of Culture 2023, Leeds needs to develop a strong artistic programme for the competition
They want a programme that is both co-curated with local communities and international in scale and ambition. Developing practical programme relationships with European artists and partners will be key to the role. The programme will also seek to address some of the challenges in the city – improving connectivity, building greater social cohesion across the city, engaging new audiences and tackling inequality.
They will consider a part time appointment, freelance contract, secondments or a team approach to the role from one or more freelancers/ cultural agencies. Leeds city council is open to different models of delivery. In all cases we will require applicants to state how they will help to build cultural capacity in the city.
The appointee will have administrative support from the Leeds 2023 bid team in facilitating workshops, managing the call out for ideas and developing the database.
