The Dublin School of Creative Arts is seeking to appoint an Assistant Lecturer in History of Art and Design on a specified purpose pro-rata basis (8 hours) covering for a staff member who is on an authorised leave of absence. The contract will cease once the member of staff has resumed work.
The position will involve lecturing as part of a dedicated cross-School team in Design History, Art History and Visual Culture on the following programmes: BA Design (Visual Communication), BA Interior Design, BA in Contemporary Visual Culture, BA in Creative and Cultural Industries, BA Fine Art, BSc Product Design, BA Visual Merchandising and Display and the MA in Visual and Critical Studies, MA in Fine Art, MA in 3D Design, MA in Interior Design and MA in Visual Communication. The position will involve supervision at MA and PhD levels as well as programme administration and programme development at BA and MA levels. The position also involves contributing to enhancement of the research profile of the Dublin School of Creative Arts through an active programme of publication.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record in lecturing in Art and Design History and Material or Visual Culture. He/she will have an active research profile in Art and Design History and Material or Visual Culture. The successful candidate will be expected to lecture as part of a cross- School team on all BA and MA programmes offered by the school and to supervise at MA and PhD level. He/she will pursue an active research and publication agenda in design history to contribute to and enhance the School’s research profile, participate in programme development, and work collaboratively with colleagues across the School, TU Dublin and other institutions as appropriate.
