Application deadline: Monday 10 April, 5pm
Butler Gallery Kilkenny invites artists to submit workshop proposals for National Drawing Day 2017, a countrywide event initiated by the National Gallery of Ireland, and coordinated in Kilkenny for the past nine years by the Butler Gallery. The event extends across the grounds of Kilkenny Castle Park, offering a creative and colourful range of artist-led, mostly outdoor workshops to an age-diverse audience, including many families, who drop in and work their way around the trail of workshops. While there is space for a small number of workshops to take place indoors, the majority of workshops will take place outside, in the grounds of the Castle Park and we encourage artists to take inspiration from the unique, outdoor setting of this event.
Workshop materials and volunteer assistants will be provided. Successful applicants will direct set-up before 12pm and run the workshop on Saturday 20th May between 12pm-4pm. A fee will be paid to successful applicants.
We welcome proposals that encourage participation from a diverse age-range. Please email your proposal to Education Curator Bairbre-Ann Harkin at email@example.com
Emails should be marked ‘National Drawing Day 2017 Proposal’ in the subject bar and include the following:
– Outline of proposed activity
– List of materials required, including quantities and estimate of cost
– Artist CV
– Example of current work (link to website / media attached to email)
