Submission Deadline: 14 March 2017
“Critical thinking without hope is cynicism. Hope without critical thinking is naïveté”
Critical Bastards Magazine invites writers and artists to critically respond to the idea of hope in all its guises, shapes, textures, positivity, negativity, falsity and problems.
Hope is a thing with wings, hope is a dangerous thing.
This is a hope that resides within the realm of the possible; it is only enacted once uncertainty is accepted. It is an unstable, ever-shifting thing, existing in the fringes, margins, shadows and edges of possibility. It is unknowable.
We are looking for critical responses to the idea of the hope that underpins the ceaseless endurance of existence, and of art.
