Application deadline: Tuesday 3 April, 5pm
Butler Gallery invites artists to submit workshop proposals for National Drawing Day 2018.
In May 2018, the Butler Gallery and Oscar-nominated animation studio Cartoon Saloon will collaborate on an interactive, multimedia exhibition to celebrate the Irish release of the highly anticipated new film The Breadwinner. National Drawing Day 2018 at Butler Gallery will respond to this film and the exhibition, as a creative and colourful series of workshops for an age-diverse audience. Many of the workshops will take place outside, in the grounds of Kilkenny Castle Park. There are a small number of spaces for indoor workshops.
Butler Gallery ask artists to respond to the theme of ‘storytelling’ in The Breadwinner, or to create a workshop based on animation, e.g. storyboarding or character development. For further details and guidance please see thebreadwinner.com/studyguide Workshop materials and volunteer assistants will be provided. Successful applicants will set-up before 12pm and run the workshop on Saturday 19th May between 12pm-4pm. A fee will be paid to successful applicants.
Butler Gallery welcome proposals that encourage participation from a diverse age-range. Please email your proposal to Learning and Public Engagement Curator Hollie Kearns at email@example.com.
Email subject should be ‘National Drawing Day 2018 Proposal’ and include the following:
