The Educational Research Centre (ERC) is currently in the process of revising its primary school reading and maths tests. Some accessible and attractive digital illustrations are required. The ERC seeks to contract an illustrator or illustrators to produce this work on a phased basis between late November 2016 and early February 2017.
Requirements for the reading tests:
· Approximately 60 illustrations to accompany vocabulary questions for First class children. These need to clearly illustrate a specific word (e.g., “bandage”), which the child must identify from four possible words.
· Approximately 100 illustrations to accompany reading passages. These may include illustrations of scenes, characters, or objects from narrative texts, and/or diagrammatic illustrations to accompany informational texts.
Requirements for the maths tests:
· Approximately 200 images to be created. These images will be ‘illustrative’ in nature i.e. images of real-world objects/people/scenes that should be appealing to children in the age range of 7 to 12. A subset of these images will require some technical skills, where details of the image must be accurate as they are used to answer the question, for example, clock faces or weighing scales.
· For some images, the designer will be provided with a ‘mock-up’, whereas for others, original artwork will be required based on a written brief.
*Please note: this opportunity is not an invitation to tender. The ERC is seeking quotes for the work commissioned*
For more detailed information on the requirements and how to submit a quote, please email Emer Delaney firstname.lastname@example.org, or Rachel Cunningham email@example.com.
