Do you have any folk medicine to share about menstruation, vaginal health, cervical care, pregnancy or menopause? Kathryn Crowley would like you to share tips, recipes, favorite herbs, medical fact, independent research and proven home remedies. For this archive, articles related to treatments, health issues, infections or discomfort that can occur during the full life cycle of any woman are welcome. The focus here is on true social engagement and roots-level community art action. Crimson Waves has no interest in academia, propaganda or alienating language. This call-out is for information that can be easily assimilated by everyday visitors to an exhibition space. Educational visuals are also welcome.
Crimson Waves is the first project of its kind in Ireland. Artists from Ireland, the UK and USA have explored menstruation, the female body, menopause and more through painting and sculpture. Writers have also responded to the themes. The event launches in May. Curator Kathryn Crowley is compiling a collection of useful information to share. All responses can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please include your full name and a phone number.
