Body&Soul Festival, taking place on this year’s Summer Solstice weekend 21st-23rd June, are looking for creative interpretations of the theme of RITUAL. They invite applicants to create interactive rites; ritual processions; elaborate installations; shrines; icons; temples; visions. The theme will occupy the ambiguous ground that lies between reverence and ridicule, faith and belief, the absurd and the stunningly sublime.
Artworks may include: Light Installations; Large Scale Works; Space Creation; Interactive Projects; Landscape Art; Sound Installations; Video Works; Projections; Sculptures; Kinetic Structures; and any other creative concept you would like to propose.
While Body&Soul promote full artistic expression without boundaries, they ask artists to realistic in terms of the cost and safety of your project. They will make final decisions based upon your level of expertise, vision and ability to work within deadlines and small budgets. Similarly, please take into consideration that your work will be viewed by thousands in the light of day and the dark of night.
Please Note: Each year the festival fully funds certain Creative Projects, be they Venues, Art Installations or Performances. Outside of these bursaries it is only in certain circumstances that they cover more than materials and transportation expenses. Applications will be considered for Body&Soul Festival, taking place on 21st – 23rd June 2019 in Ballinlough Castle, as well as Solas at Latitude Festival, July 18 – July 21 2019 and Body&Soul at Electric Picnic, August 30 – September 1 2019.
