Having an online presence is now an essential part of being an artist and for most people that will mean having great images of your work to share.
In this hour long webinar you will
- Gain an understanding of how to manage your image
- Become familiar with photography post-production skills and terms
- Identify software requirements
- Understand the requirements for images on the web
- Identify how to improve your processes
The primary characteristics of digital images for the web is that they upload/download and refresh quickly but still are of good enough quality to accurately represent the work of the artist.
This webinar will discuss how to do this. In particular we will discuss the basic concepts, the related terminology and the steps needed to create image files for the web.
Some of the things we will be covering include
- File formats
- Colour profiles
- Image compression
- File sizes and resolution
- Embedding copyright information
The tutor will be using a Mac computer and Adobe Photoshop to demonstrate during the webinar. However, the terms and concepts covered will apply to whatever computer or editing software people are familiar with.
Two weeks before the webinar, each participant will receive an email requesting that they familiarise themselves with the location of relevant features/menus within Photoshop (or whatever image editing software that they use). You don’t have to understand what these features do, but rather identify their locations within the software.
