Nature Print Workshop with Yanny Petters, Naul, Co. Dublin

Monoprinting is a technique by which one produces unique artworks through simple printing methods, easily mastered. Yanny Petters will guide participants through the process which she uses to produce nature prints. The workshop will involve learning simple mono print techniques and participants will come away with their own unique artworks.

Nature print was employed before etching techniques were developed to illustrate plants for medicinal purposes. One of the earliest nature prints is of a Sage leaf printed by Leonardo Da Vinci. The artist uses pressed leaves and plants, applies ink to these and transfers them to special paper. Yanny has been exploring the technique to create her own style of print, layering the design to give depth and variety.
