This ninety minute workshop Per Cent For Art in Ireland will address current opportunities, discuss what is needed in a proposal and application to a Per Cent for Art commission, and look at the production, delivery and promotion of a finished project. This workshop will present information but will be discursive in nature, allowing for artists to ask questions in relation to their own practices. Maeve Mulrennan is Assistant Arts Officer with Cork County Council (from Dec. 2020). She has produced public art projects, sat on adjudication panels for local authority Per Cent For Art Projects and developed briefs and contracts for commissioning institutions. She is currently working with Gaelscoil Chaladh an Treoigh on a public art project with artist Diane McCormick. She also works in Dublin City Council Culture Company and with Creative Schools. She holds an MA is Visual Arts Practices from IADT Dun Laoghaire, h.Dip in Arts Administration from NUIG, BA (hons) Fine Art Painting from Limerick School of Art and Design and a BA (hons) in English Literature, Sociology & Politics from NUI Galway. She serves on the Board of Directors for Galway Community Circus and is the Arts and Culture Representative for the Galway City Community Network.
