Open Call | C.S. Lewis Festival Glider Artist Residency, Belfast

The theme for this year’s C.S. Lewis Festival is “Of This and Other Worlds.” From 3-7 November they’ll be using music, literature, art, theology, film and a host of other fantastic experiences to explore other worlds and imaginatively respond to our own community. They’d like to invite a visual artist and a writer to respond to the world commuters enter every time they use public transport by hosting a special Glider residency during the C.S. Lewis Festival.

C.S. Lewis Festival asking local writers and visual artists to apply for one of the two stipends of £500 which will allow them to spend three days on the Glider, traveling between East and West Belfast, creating art and literature in response to what they see. An event will be held at the end of November which will allow the two artists to showcase the work created and speak briefly about their experiences during the residency.

To apply for the C.S. Lewis Festival Glider Residency 2018 please send a History of Artistic Practice and short cover letter (no more than 500 words) outlining the project you propose to work on during this residency, to Chosen artists will be notified by Wednesday 31 October. All artists must be available to take part in the residency between 3-7 November 2018.
