Deadline for submissions: 6 May.
This is an open call for art and poetry based around the theme, the internalisation of shame. The exhibition will take place in Cork, Ireland. In co-operation with TACTIC, Catriona Osborne will be curating this exhibition, which will take place during September 2019.
They are looking for work around the theme of unnecessary and uncalled for shame. The stigma of shame is an universal feeling and can be unearthed by the most innocent of actions and thoughts. The internalsation of shame is thought to be caused by undue blame or mockery in early life that can result in self-reproach later on. The curator wants to create a visual language to encourage necessary disscussion around this topic.
They are looking for a range of works, from installation to written word, from film to drawing. Along with the darker themes they will also accept works of hope, a way out of regret and remorse. The exhibition will take place during September 2019.
Please note: there is no artist fee paid to exhibit. The organisers will cover installing the work and the opening reception. Artists will not be needed to invigilate but if they wish to do so they are more than welcome.
