Open Call | New Voices of Ireland 2017

For 2017, the 5th edition of the New Voices of Ireland Series, the Centre for Creative Practices is inviting submissions from migrant, experimental and emerging artists of all disciplines. Our selected theme for 2017 New Voices of Ireland is: “MIGRATION – FROM BURDENS TO OPPORTUNITIES”.
NEW VOICES OF IRELAND SERIES 2017 wants to challenge nationalist and xenophobic propaganda. In a participatory and collaborative artistic projecte we will be exploring and exposing irrationalities and limitations of our fears in relation to such a challenge like migration.

Please apply with a short statement (max 2 pages) outlining what you suggest as an effective and creative approach to the selected theme and what type of project would you like to propose. Please attach also your artistic bio and other supporting materials if available.

Profile of artists especially invited to submit their proposals: migrants, experimental, emerging artists, changing their living conditions and environment – coming back to Ireland from migration, moving from rural into urban area etc.

Remuneration: Each selected artists will receive a fee of €800.00 for the participation in the project. 100% participation in the workshops, consultation session and the final show will be mandatory. Some funding towards material costs and transport will be available.
